Make sure you’re registered to vote
Alternatively, you can find information here (for both in-state and out-of-state residents)
You can vote in Illinois if:
- You are a U.S. citizen.
- You are at least 18 years old on or before the date of Election Day.
- You have lived in your election precinct at least 30 days prior to Election Day.
- You are not currently in jail/prison. If you have a felony on record and have already served your time, you can still vote.
- You are not claiming the right to vote anywhere else.
Register to vote, if needed
Options include:
- Online at https://ova.elections.il.gov/
Use your IL driver’s license or state ID card to register to vote, or to change your name or address. - In Person at Early Voting OR At Your Precinct Polling Place on Election Day
You must show two (2) forms of ID. At least one (1) ID must list your current address. - At the Illinois Secretary of State’s Office
If you’re already getting a new driver’s license or state ID, you can also register during that visit.
